I tried to solve my update problem on my own by going back to the earlier support ticket that told me how to remove files and then to redownload, which worked the first time, but this time did not work. When I download and try to install the launcher all I get is the splash screen. This has been really disappointing since I had time over the holidays to work on my map but haven’t been able to get to any of the software since I tried to install the update.

This is a known issue that can occur when reinstalling on Mac.
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/com.Arkenforge.Arkenforge/ (press command+shift+g in finder) and delete the ArkenforgeLauncher app and the LauncherPatcher folder, then redownload and install the Arkenforge app again.

That did not fix the problem – I deleted the files and folder as listed above and when I download and attempt to reinstall all I get is the splash screen. . .
Just to check – did you move the Arkenforge app into the Applications folder before running it?
If you right click on the app and select ‘show contents’, is there an ArkenforgeLauncher app inside?

I did move it into the applications folder before running it, it puts an icon in the app folder that says Arkenforge Alias and none of the apps respond to a right click with any menu so I can’t find an option to show contents

You’ll need to right click on it in the Finder. Unfortunately the app launching section doesn’t allow right clicking

OK, I found the launcher and it opened but I am back to square one in that it tells me Incorrect username or password – I am using ShadowMaps and I have verified that the password I am using is correct.

Try logging in with your email rather than your username.

So to confirm – if you log out of the website and back in, those same credentials can log you in fine?
